Of course I'm going to rub in our holiday vacation we just got back home from in Todos Santos, Mexico. A little place called Rancho Pescadero..... and if you ever want to take a trip to pure relaxation this is the place. It was amazing. It is a small resort, 27 suites to be exact, but has so much charm and personality I didn't want to leave. It is off the beaten path..but well worth the hour drive from Cabo. From the moment you walk on the property you are taken care of. They had fresh fruit cocktails waiting for you at the bar, all the food was organically grown and cooked in the garden on the grounds, fresh fruit and coffee waiting outside your suite when you get up every morning, the fish and seafood was caught daily, and the service was unreal. We spent the week sunbathing, reading, swimming in the pool and ocean, surfing, long runs on the beach, yoga every morning, bike rides, exploring the little artsy town of Todos Santos, and never ending cocktails and delicious food at the resort. It was perfect.... Just the two of us...no TV, no phone, but of course I had to sneak in an occasional update on facebook (one of my new years resolution was to stop looking at that damn site-ugh!) I took lots of pictures but I'll only share a few.... It will leave you wanting more and I suggest you all get down there ASAP.

A little late...but better late than never I guess. I can't believe it is already the middle of January and I am just getting around to doing this update. The holidays were pretty quiet in the Tucker household. I had to work all thru the holidays so we weren't able to head back to Denver to spend time with our family, so we did our own little San Franciscan Christmas. We went to Christmas Eve Mass, we then headed to Ruth Chris for a steak, and then we came home-light all the holiday candles and put on our christmas PJs, open a nice bottle of wine, and watch christmas movies. Perfection. Christmas Day we drove over to Marin for a nice long family hike- the weather here was amazing! We also just spent a lot of time just the three of us- running at Crissy Field, iceskating, movies, cuddling on the couch, and catching our breathe from the last part of the year. We are so glad 2011 is over!!!

New Years Eve

We spent New Years Eve at a fancy cocktail party with one of my good friends Anil. It was FABULOUS...and I say that because he is one of my big queen friends- who had every detail of his house decorated to the T- and the food and drinks were so good. Plus- I am pretty sure Tuck was one of the only guys with a "real wife" there. So much fun....but we actually didn't even stay til midnight. We came home- popped some champagne and watched the ball drop at home...just the two of us. (huge party animals I know!) Again-Perfection. We can't wait to put the last year behind us and move on. 2011 was not one of my favorite years for many reasons, but it made me realize how lucky I am to have such an amazing support system with all our friends and family. And it showed me that whatever road blocks that come our way, I have the best first team mate I could dream of. 2012 is going to be the best year yet....I feel it from the tip of my head to the tips of my toes.....

Last weekend I took off to LA to visit and spend time with my girls. We originally planned to run the LA rock and roll half marathon- and because we are getting old and broken...Amy was the only one who actually completed the run!! GO AMY! We stayed in Santa Monica and spent the weekend just hanging out and laughing our ass's off- along with dinners, walks on the beach, shopping, manis and pedis, margaritas, more cocktails, scary stories and just simple girl time with no make up, no fuss-just us girls being girls....I am so blessed to have the most amazing friends that would drop anything for a weekend to hang out with me. It was a much needed girls weekend and it really made me realize how lucky I am to have each one of these amazing women in my life. I love you all so much that words can't express my gratitude for you all being in my life. I want to thank each one of you for what you have given me over the past few weeks- I wouldn't be who I am today without all of you. (i didn't take any pictures- and the ones I took are from my faithful iphone)

Girls trip to Washington DC

Kara and I just got back from an amazing trip to DC to visit

my Dad and see the sights of DC before my Dad packs up his bags and head back to Denver. Kara is 5 months pregnant and walked all over the city for 5 days straight....such a trooper...that's why she is one of my best friends!! We spent one day visiting all the sites and museums....spent an afternoon in Georgetown, went down to Mt. Vernon, went to the Naval Academy where Kara's husband went to school (and he gave us a special tour via the iphone face time), went to a Navy football game, visited downtown Anapolis and old town Alexandria, ate fresh crabs, got a private special tour of inside the White House, and saw my Dad's office in the capital building along with all the senators (yep- totally bragging!!) Phew- I'm exhausted just talking about it!!! Kara and I have been doing a yearly girls trip for the past few years and this year was our "smart trip!" Had such a great time with her and my Dad....love you guys!!!

We just had an awesome visit and labor day weekend with my little brother Jeffrey and his girlfriend Hillary who came from Dallas for the long weekend. She had never been to San Francisco so we spent some of the weekend doing all the tourist-y stops around the city and of course a visit to wine country. They also spend an afternoon at Alcatraz and we drove down the coast to see the haunted Winchester House. Such a fun weekend....

Trip to Michigan

We spent a long weekend out on Lake Michigan for Tucks' Dads' wedding and also a lot of time to catch up with Andrea, Raul, and the kiddos. Had a great time catching up since it has been so long since we have seen them. Spent the weekend days on the "beach" at the lake, rented a boat and went out on Lake Michigan, and nights were spent hanging out at the harbor bar. Such a great weekend....and Congrats to Rich and Sally!

We spent saturday afternoon taking BART over to Oakland for the A's game. The only way they can get fans to their games is having parties pre and post and really....that's what we went for! A beerfest and Tainted Love concert with some friends from the park. Had a great time tasting beers from all over and jammin' out to Tainted Love. We only stayed up in to the 6th inning......poor A's they are terrible and no one goes to the games! ...Enjoy some of the pics!

FINALLY...Kelli and Rob ( I couldn't believe he crossed the bridge and lived to tell about it) and the boys came into the city for an afternoon to spend some time at the kids museum over in Sausalito. All the girls from work with little kiddos kept telling me about this place so I finally got Kel to agree to come in and play. Grady had a blast! Such a fun little afternoon with two of my favorite little guys. Grady was running everywhere (I was only with them for a few hours and was exhausted when we left) would scream my name to come and follow him! Love love love him!!! And cute little Sean was probably so annoyed with me by the end of the day because I wouldn't put him down!Can't wait to get out to East Bay and BBQ it up and take the little guys swimming....I LOVE summer.

My latest obsession

I have always had a love and obsession with farmers markets and fresh fruits and veggies. I have recently started to grow my own basil and lavender in my so called back yard and have been experimenting with lots of fun new recipes and make Tucker choke down what I have made. My work does a fresh farm to you where fruits and veggies from wine country get delivered every week. Makes it so much easier since I don't have to drag Tuck to the farmers market with me and listen to him whine. (although- that does still happen almost every weekend!)

We have had a ton of visitors this past month and I'm kind of lagging on the posts but I thought I should catch up before the rest of the summer catches up with me (wow- yes that makes me sound like I am a big deal...but I'm not- my life is pretty uneventful)! We had Monty and Amy come in for a long weekend and had a great time. Of course we went spent a day driving to wine country to do some tastings and lunch, and it also happened to be Pride Weekend so we spent an afternoon downtown celebrating and people watching.... We just had a great weekend with our friends Allison and Todd and their little girl Isabelle. I have been friends with Allison since 6th grade and we have been best friends ever since she moved into the neighborhood. She is such an amazing friend- and it is so fun to see her as a new mom. She is the first of us girls who have grown up together since elementary school to have a baby... so we all are in awe of what an awesome job she is doing. They both make it look so easy...and the little one is so sweet and mellow! We spent the day in wine country doing some different tastings and lunch. Here are some of the pictures from the weekend.

Hilton Head Island

We spent a couple days down in Hilton Head Island and fell in love with it! We stayed right on the water and everywhere we went we hopped on the beach cruisers and got there. There is a ton of really nice golf courses (but we didn't bring our clubs so we didn't get to play) but we had lots of other things to do. We had the best sushi I have ever had, spent an evening down at the harbor listening to a live band, ate yummy ice cream, and sat in rocking chairs and enjoyed the hot summer nights. I had such an amazing time hangin with the boys!!! Thanks for being such an amazing host Brent, until next time........

Best Memorial Day Ever....I heart South Carolina!!!

We just got back from South Carolina where my brother Brent has recently moved and I absolutely fell in love with the south. People are so kind, everyone says good morning and good evening, guys open the doors for the girls, and people tend to move at a little slower pace than us city folks are used to. Now- I'm sure if I lived there all the time I would go crazy....but for the long weekend it was just what we needed. We spent a few days exploring what the south had to offer. It was my first time to South Carolina so I wanted to do and see everything. We started out in Charleston. This city is adorable, and it has a lot of history too. We took a boat trip to Fort Sumter Island, the site where the Civil War began, and also walked around the cute little town learning all sorts of interesting facts. The houses and feel to this little town is just absolutely charming. Cobble stone streets, old Victorian houses that date back to the 1800s, and all sorts of amazing restaurants and shopping (which I didn't get to do too much of since I was with the hubby and brother). We stayed the night there and went to the famous Hyman's Seafood and walked around the city at night. It was about 100 degrees and about 100% humidity so didn't cool off much at night.... which was amazing! I love hot summer nights. We had such a fun time with Tucks' mom, Nancy, when she came to visit for the long weekend. We went to some amazing restaurants and wine bars around the city, they took a boat trip over to Alcatraz, and we spent the afternoon at the ferry building shopping at the farmers markets and all the little shops they have there. On sunday we decided to take a trip down the coast to Monterey and Carmel. We also made it to Pebble Beach and did the amazing 17 mile drive around the famous golf course. It was so nice to have a long weekend to hang out and catch up with her- it would be so nice if we lived closer, maybe one day......

I spent mothers day weekend down in SD visiting Jen and Kenz and the kiddos. It also was the twins first birthday so we celebrated with a day to Sea World. So much fun!! Was also so great to catch up with Leanne and Greg who hung out all weekend and An made the trek down from LA for the weekend as well. I am so lucky and blessed to have so many great friends from all over- love you all!! Kenz and Jen- Happy mothers day!!!! You two are amazing in all you do!!! And yes- I haven't forgotten all my other friends out there and especially my AMAZING mom- I love you and wouldn't be anywhere with out you!!!

Our Easter traditions the last couple of years aren't your typical Easter celebrations. Dying eggs, the Easter bunny and hidden baskets, and a typical Easter feast aren't in any of our plans! My parents always come in for the long weekend to try something new and exciting!! Although my Dad wasn't able to make the trip this year (he is working in Washington DC for the senate for the next 6 months- yes my Dad kicks ass!) but my mom came out without him! We had a blast. There is just something about a girls weekend with just your mom- someone to talk to and listen to, girlie movies AND Tuck couldn't complain, a long and much needed spa day, shopping and of course getting her advice and support on our life and goals! I know every mother gives the best advice- but there is just something nice about asking her for advice and listening to her thoughts... since she did such an amazing job of raising the 4 of us-I respect everything she has to say! Although some of the stuff she said wasn't what I wanted to hear- it still means so much to have her as my mom and in my corner!!

On Easter Sunday we woke up early and went to mass and we decided to head up the coast and go to Hog Island for some good 'ol oyster shucking and picnic-ing right on the bay. Jenny's parents made the trek as well and we had such a great time! All of us learned how to shuck- even MSA (although she didn't want to try one), drank some great wine that the Bakers brought from their weekend stay up in Napa and had great food and conversation. Yep- new socks from some random guy! Gotta love this city....

So last Sunday before all the visitors start coming, before Tuck has finals, and before a long and busy few weeks at work- we decided to take a walk around the city and explore just the three of us. We walked around to all the different neighborhoods, hit up a couple farmers' markets and stopped in North Beach for some dinner and wine. While we were sitting there- a random guy came up to our table and really took a liking to Tuck- and because Tuck is so nice and will make anyone feel welcome, I thought at one minute the guy was going to sit down and have some wine with us!! BUT because I made it seem like I had no interest in hanging out with the guy, he reached in his bag (yes.... I was totally freaked out because I had no idea what to expect!) and pulled out a pair of new socks- handed them to Tuck and said "these will bring you good luck in life" and walked off. I heart San Francisco and everything and everyone quarky in it!!! Enjoy some of the pictures.....

We decided to have a fun date night this weekend, so we decided to take a sushi class at Sur la Table. Had a blast learning how to make tons of yummy rolls, attempted to make sushi rice (thank god the teacher had some already made) and sharpen up on my knife skills. We also had some friends in town from SD so we met the girls out after class and went out for a few drinks at the newest lounge/bar 25 Lusk. Such a fun weekend with great friends!!

So this past week was Spring Break 2011 for Tuck and wasn't much of a spring break for him since he still had to work, but the weather couldn't have been more perfect!! 80 degrees and sunset around 8pm! We spent most nights walking around the city, eating late dinners outside at the cafes, and eating a ton of frozen yogurt (since any other time it is too cold.) On friday night we decided to take Bentley down to the beach and check out Off the Grid. It is the new hottest thing in SF- a bunch of food trucks line up at Fort Mason- bands plays and you can bring your own booze in and sample all the different types of food for really cheap!!! My kind of date night. And its not your typical carnival food- there is a ton of different types and really tasty! We had tacos, dumplings, empanadas, and best of all cupcakes.....

You know when an amazing friend comes into your life, and there isn't enough time in the day to hang out with?? That is my friend An..... and no she is not dying or sick--- she is moving to LA to follow her dream in the world of fashion and starting her own company with her best friend Alli. I am so sad she is leaving- but so excited for her new adventures. If anyone can start up a new company and 'kill it' it would be An. She is gorgeous, the most positive person to have around, always making me laugh, and she is extremely brillant!! As her cab driver described her perfectly..."Suzie champagne" once you pop her top- the party starts!!!

We had a going away party for her last night- drank lots of vino and had lots of great food and laughs!

Most of all I will miss having our impromptu wine nights on school nights, dance and singing parties (we both like the same cheesy music), and your amazing ability to make light and fun out of any situation.

Spring has sprung

Spring time in SF is different from the spring time I remember growing up in Denver. You see.... the seasons here in the bay area are less than stellar. When everywhere else in the US is experiencing warmer weather, flowers in bloom, grass turning greener from the dead brown it turned all winter, birds chirping, and longer more enjoyable evenings- us folks in SF get to experience rain, wind, and yes more fog. So here is a couple photos of a clear, just finished rainy spring night!!

So as many of you who know me, I tend to get bored easily and tired of sitting still for too long. I am constantly planning my next trip or adventure and always trying out new activities, sports, and hobbies to keep me from driving myself (and Tuck) too crazy. I am still loving all of my bootcamps and yoga classes, still enjoying knitting, my love for cooking comes and goes, and after several attempts to one day courses... I have finally signed up to take a photography class that is 12 weeks long to finally teach me how to use my "fancy" camera. So I am a little late on posting some pics, but thought I would do some today on my "sick" day from work. I took today off because work has been so busy lately, was on call weekend, need a vacation although we just got back....blah blah blah. I am just "burnt" out of my job/life right now that I need a day at home. And for that my friends... I am bundled up at home on the couch with a cup of coffee with no cable TV to catch up on my Housewives of wherever show (cable box broken), ipad on my lap, dog at my feet, and no responsibilities for just a few hours before I go stir crazy and have to get up and do something. A day to just me...

We took a quick little trip over to Hawaii to help celebrate our friends Chad and Shellys' wedding on Maui. We had an awesome trip!! Spent a few of the days at the beach (of course), body surfing and playing in the water for hours like we did when we were kids, took a zip lining tour up on the volcano, long runs on the beach while the "frat" house was sleeping off their hangovers, and a small beautiful wedding ceremony for two of our friends. Tuck has been friends with Chad since they were in middle school playing soccer together. They continued to play soccer in college and lived as roommates for awhile too. The ceremony was held at the house we rented and our friend Ryan "Tino" was the master of ceremonies. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception....congrats Watts'!!!

As most of you know, Tuck had surgery back in December on his ankle due to an old man- I mean old soccer injury! He unfortunately had to be non-weight bearing for 7 weeks which is a long time for anyone, but someone that lives in a city full of hills is another challenge. Luckily, he was on winterbreak from school for most of the time, but still had to get to and from work. So what better to do.....he bought this scooter thing that he wheeled around town. It was pretty practical- but pretty nerdy at the same time. The first few days of "scooting" to work- he would come home and tell me "lots of girls were looking at me"- and I am pretty sure it wasn't because of his handsome, dashing good looks. Anyways- got some pictures of the 'ol thing- Enjoy! (ok ok- so these were taken with some staging because he no longer is using it since he can walk again- THANK GOD- but thought it would be fun for you all to see) And an update- he can walk with and with out the stabilizing boot- and will soon be able to get back out there on the soccer field!!!!

Jenny, Jill and I signed up for a wine tasting class at the JCC- and learned a lot about new and upcoming wines. Granted we also got a little tipsy- the teacher 'suggested' we pour wines out while tastings- we thought it would be better to drink all of our tastes. Such a fun night with my girls. After class we decided we were going to have an mellow dinner since it was a school night..... but just not sure us girls know how to keep it mellow! Love you guys!

We spent a weekend up in North Tahoe with the SD crew and had a blast! The house was perfect, the company was amazing and the laughs are unforgettable. We all hit the mountain on friday (minus- Tuck since he is in the boot) and enjoyed the amazing weather and views from atop Alpine Meadows. I went skiing all morning with the boys... and met up with everyone for a lunch in the sunshine. The girls and I started Apres ski a little before the boys... and Tuck came to join the fun! Fri night we made a huge taco dinner and helped celebrate Varessa's birthday.... with a little Cakebread of course! Saturday some of the peeps went up to the mountain again- and I stayed back with Tuck and Joey and enjoyed what North Tahoe had to offer. Also- we went snow mobiling and had a blast!!!! I almost flipped the snow mobile- and got yelled at by the guide- whoops!!! Saturday night we all enjoyed what the cabin had to offer- hot tubing, drinking games, dance parties and more friends to stay and visit!!! Such a great weekend to catch up with everyone we don't get to see anymore- and looking forward to next year.....in Whistler....until the next great snow my friends......

He is here! Bree had her little guy a couple weeks ago and he is the cutest little guy ever! Tiny and really long- has the body of a swimmer just like Dad! Mom and baby are doing great! She brought him to cooking club to meet all the girls, and we went hiking over in Marin this morning... yes she is a crazy woman!! She also had a natural birth- if that tells you anything!!! He is so absolutely precious, so mellow and easy going- I think it helps that Bree and Frank are so easy going, and for first time parents they are doing great!!! Congrats you guys- so excited to watch this little man grow up!!!

That's right everyone- I am a godmother!!! One of my best friend Kelli asked me to be the godmother to her sweet little boy Sean. I was so honored and grateful to be asked to be such a huge part of this little guys life. Kelli is one of my best friends from college- was always right next to me whenever we were causing trouble and really made me laugh everyday of Ph Phi nonsense and ASU dance team days. She is a mother of two handsome little boys- that are going to be trouble when they grow up!!! Kel is also one of those mothers that tells it like it is: truthfully and no nonsense. She will tell you everything that mothers are embarassed about! Makes me so excited to one day have her to call on when I have kiddos of my own. She is an amazing mother and friend and I am so lucky to have her in my life. With Kelli's first little guy, Grady, my clock kind of turned on- but now with Sean, my clock has officially turned on and starting ticking away......TICK TOCK TICK TOCK. (Kel- I stole your pics!) Weekend in Wine Country

This past weekend we decided to make a quick trip up to wine country for a little R&R. We stayed in downtown Napa at the Napa River Inn- such a cute little hotel! We spent the weekend winetasting, eating some yummy foods, and relaxing in the spa. I also made Tuck go check out the "Old Faithful of California" (biggest waste of money) Saturday night we also got all dressed up and hit the town and went to the new Morimoto's Napa resturaunt on the riverfront! Amazing sushi!!! Enjoy some of the pics!!!

Happy Birthday Bentley- poor little guy!!! We got him neutered....yes I know I am mean- and I should of thrown a fancy party.... but pretty sure he has no idea! I picked him up from the vet and he cried the whole way home, I think he was still recovering from the anesthesia. He slept pretty good the first night- and woke up in the morning ready to go- except he has to wear the "cone of shame" for another 10 days. I am pretty sure we all won't last that long- I got home from work today and he managed to chew on a corner of it, and everywhere I go- that damn thing is jamming in the back of my legs!!! Good thing is- we won't get looked at weird by other San Franciscan dog owners( people hate non-neutered dog, NOT KIDDING- and for those of you who know B- he is vicious)..... seriously some weird people in this city!! So this year was just like any other year here in the our household. We threw a huge Turkey Day Bash with about 20 of our friends and family.We started out the day with a 5 mile Turkey Trot through Golden Gate Park- and then everyone brought their favorite dishes to share, Chad fried the 20+ pound turkey(thanks Watts), and I just poured the cocktails (although Tuck said I only did that for about the first few hours- and then I got side tracked by dancing and singing to christmas music!!) We had such a great time with everyone. A couple of the guys got "iced, we had a huge dance party, and the night ended with a pie fight between Tuck and Jill. I am so thankful for my "wonderfully wild" friends. I feel so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life- who make me laugh out loud everyday! Until next year friends.......

One year anniversary sky dive

We finally did it!!! We went sky diving. For our one year anniversary I got Tucker tickets to go skydiving (the gift of paper!) We woke up early saturday morning and drove up to Cloverdale, CA. and took the leap. It was incredible. As soon as I landed I wanted to go back up and Tuck on the other hand, well, he didn't do so well. He told me when I got the tickets he had no desire to ever jump out of a plane- but would do it for me!!! (I think he just didn't want to be a wimp!!) As soon as Tuck landed, he was released from his guide and let's just say he was a little motion sickness and got sick!! Poor guy! Such a fun experience for us to share. Enjoy some of the shots!!!!

Baked Beans Jamaican Wedding

We just got back from Jamaica where we celebrated Baked Beans' wedding celebration! It was such an amazing time- despite Hurricane Tomas. Both Tuck and I were honored to stand by Jill and Bakers' side while they said their "I-dos." We had such an amazing time hanging out with old friends and meeting new ones. Both Jill and Jon are amazing people and it shows by how many people traveled acrossed the country to help celebrate their wedding. We love you guys so much! New little hobby of mine

Oh yes- I have a new little hobby- and I love it!!! I started a knitting class on monday nights (I know, I know...however it is a bunch of ladies that love to gossip about celebrities and drink wine while we knit ) but now that Tuck is never home and it is getting dark earlier and earlier- I have something to do!! I have to say- after my first class- I almost threw the needles in the trash- and I blamed it on being left handed- but I stuck with it and now love it! Even the little old lady who is teaching the class was suprised to see me back! I have completed a couple scarves and hats- and next moving on to baby blankets and booties. So, for those of you who are knocked up or have babies already- put your orders in. Poor Tuck is stuck wearing and modeling my projects-and just wait until I attempt a sweater (it might be more like a crop top with short, uneven sleeves- but I am going to make him wear it with pride!!)

Last night we went over to our friends house for a pumpkin carving party with all of our dog park friends. We had a blast and yes- we won the competition!!!! (although our pumpkin wasn't the best carved pumpkin, we won for creativity and illumination!) Happy Halloween!!!

Fall is in the air

My favorite time of year, fall. The crisp, cool nights, the yummy smells of pumpkin breads and chai tea lattes, the leaves changing color and of course- summer-time like weather for the bay area! This weekend was a lazy weekend- and I loved every minute! Long runs, took Bentley to the beach, date night out, and snuggling and watching movies on the couch. It was fleet week so we packed up a cooler and went to the park to watch the Blue Angels! I also spent time pretending to be quite the little betty crocker and made some home made chocolate chip cookies, home made turkey chili and corn bread all the while football is on in the background! A little R&R was all I needed after all the craziness the past few weekends.

A girls weekend

Kara came up from Texas for a much needed girls weekend!!We spent Friday biking around Napa and wine tasting- what is better than that? Then Saturday we spent the morning getting out butts kicked by Sergeant Ken (HOOAH) and did some shopping around the city. We woke up early Sunday morning and ran the San Jose Half Marathon, without much training and hydrating with booze the days prior, and then finishing off the weekend with manis and pedis- was an amazing time!!!

I met Kara in San Diego at the hospital when we both were taking care of a sick little old man named Mortimer. ( I think we laughed 12 hours straight- the guy was super confused and kept telling us how pretty we are!!) When we finished the shift- we went out and grabbed some drinks and have been friends ever since. She is one of those friends every girl needs. I mean the girl can't be more honest- I mean brutally honest (Sorry- girl, but you know its true) but tells you what everyone wants to say but doesn't have the guts to tell you!! Every girl needs a friend like that! We stood by each others sides when we were getting married and talk almost everyday on the phone (even though I hate talking on the phone)! Kara you are such an amazing friend and I am so blessed to have you in my life! Love you so much!

Beans' Bachelorette Party

Just got back from an amazing time with 24 fabulous ladies up in Headlesburg, CA. for Jill's Bachelorette Weekend. We arrived to the mansion on friday night and had a huge dance party in the kitchen for about 6 hours straight- which lead to swimming in the hot tub and pool until the wee hours in the morning-followed by a wine tasting tour through the valley all day saturday. Then saturday night we had a lingerie party and some other fun "secret activities" to get the bride ready for her big day in Jamaica. Such a fun weekend with my fabulous ladies! We took a long weekend down to Ojai, CA. to help celebrate Josh and Sarahs' wedding. It was so gorgeous and so much fun to hang out and catch up with all of our good friends from San Diego. We also decided to take Bentley with us and we wore him out with 8 mile hikes in the mountains surrounding Ojai and long runs. Sarah had the weekend planned with pool days with adult snow cones, pub crawls through town, girls luncheons ,golf tourneys, and ended with a gorgeous reception poolside at the herb gargen at the resort! Congrats to the Epsteins and thanks for a great party! Tuck was so honored to be part of the celebration!! Sarah and I agreed that Josh and Tuck were brothers in a past life!! One Year Anniversary in Tahoe

We made it! One year! (Or actually 16 years-8 months- to the day) Being married to my best friend has been amazing!!! I think back over the last year and can't believe how fast time goes! If you remember my dads speech at the wedding (which I have to say he knocked it outta the park) he gave us several tips and secrets about the hard work it takes to build a solid marriage. One of my favorites points was when he said it doesn't matter if you can built or fix anything, as long as you have love and respect for each other it will last. And for those of you who know Tuck, (not the handy engineer I grew up with- love ya Dad!) he hasn't changed. Still takes him 8 hours to build a desk, a whole day to hang 3 shelves(not kidding), and calls ME to fix the toilet- I love him more and more everyday! I feel so lucky to have him, with Tuck I am at home.

This year we both have been so busy with work, training Bentley, and Tuck (poor guy) studying and going to school- we still manage to find time for each other with date nights out, and of course my favorite date IN- when we just hang out at home and watch movies, TV or just sit and laugh hysterically with each other.

For our 1st anniversary we decided to pack up the pup and head up to Tahoe. We went hiking, swimming at the lake, BBQ'd and just hung out the two of us. We also had the year old, frozen top of the wedding cake! It was not as good as the first time! Saturday afternoon there was a small thunderstorm- just like the summers we grew up with in Colorado. Such a great weekend. Enjoy the pics!!! (also- if you notice the theme of the weekend- PURPLE!!! I think the peoples' condo we stayed in had every shade of purple!!!)

We spent sunday afternoon sailing around the bay on a 41 foot boat! Had such a great time checking out the city and the skyline, learning all the ins and outs of sailing, and drinking cheap white wine- what could be better?!!! Well, I guess if the sun would of made it out- it would of been a perfect afternoon, but since it was one the coldest day ever on the bay I am so thankful I bought a bunch of hats and mittens from Peru!!!! And what better way to warm up then heading to North Beach for some tapas and wine!!! Love summertime in SF- even if it is unbelievably freezing!!!

good bye old friend

I finally did it- I let the 'ol white lightening go. It had seen its' last days. She couldn't handle the open road no more. So many memories in that car. My dad bought it for me when I left for college and I just donated her because she wasn't ready for a new sell. That poor car had seen better days... Like ASU days- blaring 'Just to see you smile' or 'least complicated with Kel, Mel and Beth, driving home from good 'ol Joe's place, driving cross country with Jen and our walkie-talkies, packing up everything I own and hitting the road, driving home tipsy (sorry mom) with Kara from the races in SD, driving home tipsy (sorry again mom) from Napa with the Neppels' blaring 'grandma got ran over by a reindeer'- in the middle of September, getting hit by a car out front of Tucks' house, make out sessions in the back seat (back when I was single-ready to mingle), 4th of July's in SD with 15 people piled in the car, being towed from outside my apartment several times-and all the while I never had gotten her over 91,000 miles. Such a sad, wierd moment- I had never been a car person but I was a little sad to see her go today. I think it was because of all the fun times I had with her. Good-bye white lightening.....

Mission Peru June 2010

I just got back from the most amazing medical mission trip with my mom and friend Leanne. It was an amazing adventure but also extremely humbling. The Peruvian people are so kind and patient, they would wait for hours in the hot sun waiting to see a doctor or nurse. We spent several hours in a hospital in Iquitos doing surgeries and procedures, but also spent long days out in the villages along the Amazon River educating the people. It truly was an experience I will never forget. After the mission, we spent a week traveling around the country visiting all the sites including Manchu Picchu. We also spent the days doing jungle tours including a night tour with all the snakes, bats and spiders. It was unbelievable!!!! I posted a few of the picture we took. Enjoy!

Our puppy is 6 months old! He is quiet handsome I might say! He is a little terror though. Ate an entire hardback book (seriously ate it ALL) Tucks shoes, and loves to pick up rugs and moves them all over the apartment! He also loves kids- which is good and bad- lately we have been doing a lot of apologizing to parents for Bentley jumping and kissing on the little ones. Love you B!

We spent saturday afternoon at Vivianna's dance recital at the San Jose Performing Arts Theatre. She was a 'dancing dorothy' in the show and was not stage shy at all!!!! I think the teachers had to get her off stage for stealing the spot light! So cute! The performance was way better than any of the shows we used to put on in the gym at the elementary school. It also was the last weekend we spent with the Romeros' before they make the move to the East Coast. Good luck on your new adventure....we will miss seeing the little ones grow up... but maybe a christmas in New York City is in store. Love you guys.....

Bay to breakers is one of the best weekends in San Francisco. Jeffrey and Kate come from Texas and Monty, Amy, and Big Daddy made it up for the wild weekend. We rented bikes and made the 22 mile trek over to Tiburon for the winefest, explored different neighborhoods in the city, and started out Bay to Breakers with a 7am game of flip cup over at Nate and Amys. Such a great weekend with great friends, but next year I think just the winefest for me.

We had amazing time entertaining Jeff and Amy who came up from LA for a long weekend. Amy is from London and before she heads back- she wanted to cross SF off her list. It is always fun having people come and visit because it makes me fall back in love with the city. We spent the days showing them all over the city, and spent the nights out catching up over drinks and dinner. We made it to the famous Bourbon and Branch speakeasy- where Jeff is actually working on a script that involves this place. We had a great time with the Burgess's too!!!! Lovin' Springtime in SF

We have been loving the spring time sunshine in the city! We had a miserable winter with rain and cold and now the sun is shining and we can't get enough of exploring this amazing city. We ended up at Betlenut drinking mojitos on a gorgeous saturday afternoon- laughing and catching up with good friends. We also have been dragging Bentley around the city to all the cafes and outdoor bars- he is quite the little social butterfly! At the end of our saturday- we all jumped in a cable car and drove around the city!! Had such a great day! I heart SF!

Bentley graduated on saturday morning!!! He also got all his puppy shots so he can now to go to the beach and the park. This little guy is getting more fun everyday. He runs like crazy with all the other dogs- and comes home and passes out!!!! It is the best for all of us!!!! So many fun things to come this summer. Stay tuned......

Our little guy is growing bigger everyday. He is the A+ student in puppy class- and by A+ student I mean following all the adults in the class who have treats and sitting, shaking hands, and laying down- over and over. He plays with the other puppies- but would rather eat treats! Come on- GENIUS!!!!

Happy Birthday Baker

Happy Birthday! Jill had planned for a great birthday celebration for Jonathan in Burlingame with Go-Karting! What a fun saturday afternoon. Of course, Jenny Bane won but we all had the best time racing around the track at speeds up to 35mph. We got to wear some super cool racing suits, face masks and helmets- felt very Nascar..... I do have to say I thought I did better than 3rd place- but at least it wasn't last- Sorry Beans!!!! Such a great time with great friends- Happy Birthday Baker- hope you last year of your twenties go by fast- so you can join your thirties like the rest of us!!!!!!! Love you!

Our latest addition....Bentley

We finally made the 7 hour drive down to Riverside, CA. to pick up our new little puppy, Bentley. We met his mom and dad- and brothers and sisters before we hit the road to head back up north. He was such a good little puppy in the car- only peed when outside and pooped once the entire trip home! Very impressed. We thought we picked the best behaved little guy- but we spoke too soon. As soon as we got him in the house- he tore apart puppy pads, attempted to chew on every bit of furniture, and forgot that he was only supposed to go potty outside!!!!! The first night was ok- he never cried (which made me nervous) but we took him out anyways and he did okay. Suprising because everyone told us how hard crate training is going to be. I know, I know- it was only the first night!!! He spent most of his first day sleeping under Tucks' feet- but he is starting to warm up to us- and I think I am going to have my hands full with this one. So excited for all the adventures we are going to have with him. Lots of fun things planned- puppy socials, puppy kindergarten, and getting to know the city. Can't wait to see what this little guy is all about!!!!!

It's a boy.....

January 2010 is bringing a lot of new and exciting changes to our house! We have decided to move to a bigger apartment in the Pac Heights neighborhood in San Francisco. A little closer to the hospital and getting ready to have an extra bedroom for all our family and friends to come and visit. We also have decided to make our family a little bit bigger with a new little puppy..... Bentley. He was born Nov 30, 2009 and we get to bring him home Jan 22nd- which happens to be the exact date that Tuck and I had our first date...16 years ago. We can't wait to have a little terror in our house. He is a full-bred yellow lab- and full of mischief and energy. Also- Tuck is going to be super busy since he will be starting his MBA program in January. Lots of fun things happening......we are so excited to see what the rest of 2010 will bring.

We had a great time heading down to Mexico for some fun in the sun for Amy and Nathan's wedding. They decided to get married in Puerto Vallarta- at the Riu Palace. It was such a great weekend- sun, booze, and sunset ceremony for the two of them. I was honored to stand by your side on this special moment- we couldn't be happier for the two of you. Getting to meet your family and friends was so fun-- although I don't think us Albertsen/Tuckers are made to party with the Neppels. Frank the Tank and MSA were honored to make the trip too- Thanks for everything Jones'/Neppels'- you guys have been amazing friends and can't wait to see what the future holds for the two of you!!!!! xoxo......Cheers!!!

Turkey Day

We had such a great time with friends and family for thanksgiving. Chad, Court, and Joe came to visit for the long weekend. We also had a huge feast with family and friends. Chad braved frying a turkey- that didn't look so great (Don't think they are supposed to be black) but tasted so good. We had everyone bring a dish from home- which made it fun to bring tradition from everyone's family to our little feast. We are so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives. We also spent the weekend exploring the city, biking over to Sausalito, and watching Tuck get a new haircut thanks to Chad.

A lazy saturday

We had such a fun little saturday and headed down to Tucks sisters house for the afternoon to play with the kids. Nicco is two months now and slept the entire time. Vivianna ran all around the park- playing with all the kids and other dogs. As you can see-Tuck had his trusty Coors Light with him- guess we are not ready for the kids yet- although we had a blast watching all the dogs play. Now if only I can talk Tuck into getting me a little puppy for christmas......

New little nephew- Niccolas Raul Romero

Big news for Tucks' sister Andrea- her little man decided to come a few weeks early- but waited until we got back from Greece. She was scheduled for a c-section on Sept. 21st- but the little guy came early on Sept 6th at 5:48am. He was 6lbs 13oz. and 18.5 inches long. She went into labor at home earlier that day- but waited until 10pm that night- when she went into the hospital she was 8cm dilated. It was such a special day because I was able to see the labor- and what a miracle it is. I haven't seen a baby being born since nursing school- so being able to watch my new sister-in-law deliver was amazing!!!! He is such a mellow little guy- compared to his older sister Vivianna. She does take very good care of him- always making sure he has a blanket on him and making sure his pacifier is never too far away. Congratulations to the Romeros'- many blessings of laughter and love to come.

Honeymoon in Greece

We had such a great time as we jet setted off to Greece for two weeks for our honeymoon. We flew in and out of Athens and went to the islands of Santorini, Crete, and Mykonos. We had an amazing time. Hanging out at the beach, drinking poolside, sailing at sunset, winetasting, and four-wheeling all around the islands.

We finally did it! We said I do Aug 22nd, 2009 with a huge party with friends and family in Denver. We are so blessed that we have so many wonderful family and friends that could be there to celebrate the beginning of our life together!!! Thanks to everyone that made it so special for us.
